9/11 was my wake up call, and I've never fallen back asleep.
For me, it was the "Second Intifadah". (Hell, I even had to educate myself who that Sharon was, whose visit to the temple mount caused that objection from all those peaceful Arabs!) But 9/11 surely helped to fortify it.
