Freedom of Opinion is Dead in Germany

There is a remarkably fair and balanced article about the German PEGIDA movement in today's Telegraph.

PEGIDA stands for Patriotische Europäer Gegen die Islamisierung des Abendlandes, Patriot Europeans against the Islamisation of the Occident. It is unanimously smeared as "right wing", "right wing populist", "right wing extremist" or "Nazi" in the German mainstream media. I wrote the following message to the author Justin Huggler at his website
Dear Mr. Huggler,
Thank you very much for the fair report of the German PEGIDA-movement in "The Telegraph".

One wouldn't find anything like that in the German media where any criticism of Islam and Muslim immigration and the plight of ordinary citizens will be ostracized and smeared as "right wing". Your article is proof of the fact that in the UK quality journalist standards still apply.

Please allow me to correct one detail: Hooligans (with a capital "H") are not "self-proclaimed" but a considerable part of German soccer-fan culture. If they are violent, they are only violent among themselves. Away from the soccer stadiums they are ordinary citizens with families about whom they care, just like everybody else. There are professionals and academicians among them.

The demonstrations against Muslim immigration in Cologne did not turn more violent as any mass demonstration tends to be. What little violence there was was due to the countermarch of the extreme left and to police provocation. The 1000 police officers wouldn't have been able to control 6000 Hooligans had they been really set on violence. The few far-right demonstrators present had been free-riders. I will gladly provide you with proof of all those facts should you so desire.

Again, thank you very much for your article!

Sincerely yours,
Nora Brinker
The Tsunami of lies about the Cologne rally left me shit-scared. And no, not because of the Hooligans. Freedom of opinion is dead in Germany, that's why.

The Depth of German Hatred for America and Modernity

How many times have I stressed that the "Christian" Union parties ARE NOT conservative and that it's beyond ridiculous to label former agitprop secretary Angela Merkel such? Well, read this article, German 'Conservatives' Find Common Ground with Sharia-Compliant Economics, by John Rosenthal. Excerpt:
In a series of seminars held recently in Berlin, Ankara, and Abu Dhabi, Germany’s Konrad Adenauer Foundation examined the “commonalities” between the social market economy and “Islamic economics.” As reported in the German daily Die Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, the participants:

came to the conclusion that [the commonalities] were great and that, for example, the recent financial crisis would not have broken out if today’s economic order had been oriented to the common values shared by both. The politicians present, including those from the [German] Bundestag, did not disagree.

The Konrad Adenauer Foundation is a publicly funded “political foundation” affiliated with the Christian Democratic Union, the party of German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Chancellor Merkel sits on the executive board of the foundation.

What I find even more creepy is that the Abu Dhabi-based (sic!) correspondent of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung -- that's a "conservative" newspaper for you, Americans --, Rainer Hermann, goes so far as to state that a real estate bubble, such as formed on the U.S. housing market, would have been "impossible" in a system of "Islamic banking", which, in my opinion, shows in a nutshell the entire depth of German hatred for America and modernity.

I'm not a terrific fan of Pajamas Media, but John Rosenthal's entries are always worth reading, at least for those who want to get some genuine information about Germany. He speaks fluent German, thus knows what he is talking about, and doesn't dream the American pipe dream about a conservative-at-heart Germany that is hijacked by an evil clique of leftists, as it was once hijacked by an evil clique of Nazis who were leftists anyway (don't get me started on THAT).

Here is his blog.

Ringtone

This should be understandable even without any knowledge of German. The reader of my German blog who sent me this commented: "I think that's great. The entire controversy about 'values' in 22 seconds!

Again: I told you so, Americans!

Here's another "Educating Americans" entry, part of the backlog due to my blog block. Our oh-so-conservative (I always get a neck like a red biscuit tin if I see that epithet applied to that woman) chancelorette's contradicting statements re Islam were met with interpretations from plainly wrong via deeply silly to patently ridiculous and only a very few twigged that she is simply as timeserving as a streetwalker, just less ethical.

Since our Catholic head of state -- that's the one with the tattooed concubine second wife Merkel hove into office -- called Islam a part of Germany, things have become a bit muddled here. Of course, he is right, he just doesn't mean it that way. Islam is a part of Germany, as I have written many times before, since the German elite embraced the "Grand Mufti of Jerusalem" as co-organiser for the Holocaust and certified Islam to be a practical and attractive religion for soldiers. Elite and opinion makers still love Islam, just changed the reasons for it a bit, and when Merkel then made that contradicting statement about "Mulitikulti" having failed, the confusion was complete. In fact, she could have said that the moon is made of green cheese with as much conviction.

The fact that a considerable part of the voting public didn't take too kindly to Merkel's head of state pro-Islam rhetoric -- Thilo Sarrazin must have hit a rare bulk backbone-nerve -- made her backpedal like a Tour de France contestant down L'Alpe d'Huez. As I put it in the comment section of an earlier entry here: that woman is an utter opportunist. She has come to understand that her spineless stance in the Sarrazin affair hasn't won her any brownie points with her potential elctorate. Never forget that she weasled her way all through the most vile of all Eastern Bloc communist systems.

I explained, too, why it drives me up the wall if Christian Democrats are labelled "conservatives". They are Sacré Coeur Socialists, always have been. When I was a child, a Protestant in a leading position in the "C" parties used to be somewhat suspicious. It was a Catholic stronghold with a notable wing close to the Catholic social teachings. The few remnants of former political glory of this old representative of political Catholicism have been utterly destroyed by the Communist Protestant pastor's daughter by now.

Why is it so difficult to understand that? Just keep in mind that she was born in Hamburg (West Germany for those of you who don't know) and her parents went from there to the Stalinist GDR, the most suppressive of all dictatorships behind the Iron Curtain, out of their own free will when she was a child and where she grew up, was socialised and politicised. Can you tell me about the mind of somebody who made such a decision? Again: THAT was the environment in which Merkel grew up. And later, after the fall of the Iron Curtain, she joined the Christian Democrats without missing a beat and made a career as Helmuts Kohl's "Mädel" (girl), as he put it so endearingly. Now go figure.

Bonn, 25.06.1992: Angela Merkel, then Minister for Women and Youth in Helmut Kohl's cabinet together with her mentor. There she accomplished "equal opportunities" law and the "right" of patents to a nursery place for their children. "Conservative", Christian Democrat, family policy at its finest.

Here, here, here, here, here and here I commented on our chancellorette. Read it and THEN get an opinion.

I wrote, for example, about the above cartoon, showing Merkel reproaching Pope Benedict ("That's a no no, Ratzinger! As far as Holocaust denial is concerned you'll have to set things straight at your end at last, got me?!!") while protesters outside her window are shouting: "Kill the Jews", "Jews to the gas" and "Allah bless Hitler", as it, in fact, happens in Germany. The caption says: "Sweeping at a remote door in the limelight", referring to the German proverb saying that one ought to "sweep [away the dirt] at one's own front door first". During a press conference Merkel had demanded from a great height that, in the affair about the ex-excommunication of renegade Bishop Williamson by Pope Benedict, that "it must be dealt positively with the Jews", adding: "As far as I see, these matters have not been satisfactorily clarified yet." What made this so interesting, and, typically, it was largely overlooked by the mainstream media, was that she made the above statement while standing beside Nursultan Nasarbajew, the president of Kazakhstan, because the press conference was the one following his state visit. Nasarbajew, the autocrat, Nasarbajew, weighed down by international accusations of corruption, Nasarbajew, the Sunni Muslim.

No, dear Americans, believe me: That woman won't do anything about anything (but ANYthing) that is near and dear to YOUR hearts.

I told you so, Americans!

Two years plus two weeks ago I wrote in an entry headed Labour of Love
While the well-meaning but -- to put it politely -- slightly one-dimensional Americans tend to throw a hearty "he was a patriot" after every dead Nazi towards hell because HE opposed immigration and THEY don't know their arses from their elbows, i.e. squat about German history, society and mentality, the Austrian liberal newspaper "Der Standard" gives us a more complex insight into the now dead mind of Jörg Haider, governor of the Austrian state of Carinthia, the man who thought that he could always get away with driving at more than 140 km/h on a road designed for 70 km/h.

The question to end all questions is whose fault it was that Haider turned into a Jew-hater -- no, let me rephrase: that "he resorted to political non-correctness". Don't fret, "Der Standard" knows why:

"One can regard his antiamericanism and his resorting to political non-correctness as a result of his questionable interpretation of the European past or as reaction to his own rejection, specifically by Israel, who had recalled her ambassador from Vienna when [Haider's then party] the FPÖ became part of the government in 2000. Also, Haider was probably looking out to extend his influence to the international stage, and nobody else wanted him.
Yes, we cried too. If he hadn't been such a cuss with his obsessive antiamericanism, VDare might have even thrown a dirt cheap regular column after him. Who knows, maybe they did and he politely declined. I'm sure he had, in his own way, higher standards than VDare and their ilk.

So Haider really loved the Jews, but, like with his parents before him, this love remained unreciprocated, whereupon he turned into a Jew-hater and flirted with Arab dictators who are, as we all know, nothing but frustrated lovers of the Jews as well.

[...]
The following day I wrote:
When will you Americans finally twig that THERE ARE NO "conservatives" in Germany and that those who can be considered "patriots" hate your guts and will get at your throat rather sooner than later, given the slightest opportunity, Haider and his ilk included. Why, do you think, are they all, left right and center, rubbing elbows even with the most despicable of Islamic dictators? Because they really like them? Their looks? Their smell? Their dress sense? You must be joking.

WHAT we have are brown-painted Socialists, Sacred-Heart Socialists, green-over-brown-painted Socialists, Communists and a tiny, hapless "liberal" party that used to be a receptacle for old Nazis after '45 and which has ousted itself from serious politics by their self-consciously cultivated image of a "fun party". [Edit: Here I was wrong. In the meantime the liberals have become part of the ruling coalition with its openly homosexual leader who recently "married" his "partner" as foreign minister.]

The staple of all of them is the hatred of America and Jews, which the not-brown-painted ilk insist to call "anti-Zionism" because they are such despicable hypocrites.
Just reminding, and read the comments to the latter entry as well.

Now it transpires that the German secret service Bundesnachrichtendienst (BND) paid for Haider's trip to Iraq in 2002, as Austrian weekly Profil reported on Sunday.

It seems that the BND was interested in Haider's Iraqi contacts and used the services of an unidentified Austrian businessman to organise the trip and pay for the flight. According to the report, the BND spent "several hundreds of thousands" of Euros in observing Haider and his activities. According to Profil, the BND declined to comment on the information.

Last August, Profil and other Austrian media reported that Haider deposited 45 million Euro (63 million USD) over the years in secret accounts in Liechtenstein. Allegedly, the money came from the Libya's Ghaddaffi and Iraq's Saddam Hussein.

I spell it out to you again: Before you start ecstatically drooling over some "anti-immigration" politician in Europe, ask some questions first. That isn't asked too much, or is it?

An Empty Trouser Suit Defends Free Speech

Yesterday night, chancellorette Merkel did something right and all the world have their knickers in a knot now in sycophantic amazement and praise. The Caesarian whore tabloid BILD (no link) gushed about her "bravest performance" ever since she forgot to attend an FDJ rally. But, being who she is, she couldn't HELP relativising her support of Westergaard with that ubiquitous cowardly and morally corrupt mantra about freedom of speech being lumbered with certain "responsibilities". Typically, she also chided in the same breath the pastor in Florida who intends to burn the Koran to mark the anniversary of 9/11 as "abhorrent". The old German obsession with telling Americans what to do and what not to do is still alive and thriving.

Hypocrisy runs rampant. While Westergaard's case is one of freedom of speech, Sarrazin's isn't, but about "the consequences a book may have for the author within a specifically important public law institution", as she put it in her speech. Yeah, whatever.

Reactions from the usual suspects are hardly amazing. Aiman Mazyek, secretary of the "Central Council of Muslims", and a specifically ardent defender of freedom of speech, is quoted stating that "Merkel is honouring the cartoonist who in our view trampled on our prophet and trampled on all ... blah blah yabber yabber yack yack", and the Green Party, another haven of freedom of all sorts, don't like Merkel's appearance either. "I wouldn't have done it," said Green Party floor leader Renate Künast, and "...if a chancellor also makes a speech on top of that [the Danish cartoon affair], it serves to heat up the debate." And a heated debate is something we can't have. I'll remind Künast of that as soon as another CASTOR transport is about.

But back to Merkel. It's embarrassing beyond belief. Sarrazin's book doesn't help integration, is bad for Germany's reputation in the Arabic world and hurts Muslims feelings. And to honour Kurt Westergaard does ... what? If you ask me, she makes up her shit as she goes along and thinks that a handshake for Westergaard will mollify those who found her performance in the Sarrazin case somewhat sub-optimal. Personal courage? She is under 24/7 police protection anyway. Any little Internet activist who is blogging under his real name is more endangered.

Shaking and old, freakish (I mean that in a kind way) cartoonist's hand doesn't cost much and will rake in a lot. He can always serve as the object for cheap good will and for brushing up one's image as a defender of free speech. However, a member of the establishment is different. He is a traitor to his class and must be harshly curbed and disciplined.

I mean, isn't it OBVIOUS?

Edited to add:
Benjamin Weinthal: Why is Merkel Protecting Iran's Terror Bank? -- Double standards:

German Chancellor Angela Merkel is slated to honor today in the city of Potsdam, just outside of Berlin, the Danish caricaturist Kurt Westergaard, whose cartoons satirizing the Prophet Muhammad and fanatical Islam triggered violent protests across the Muslim world in 2005. Westergaard will receive the “M100” media prize for his devotion (and unwavering courage) to press freedom.

What is striking about Merkel's tribute to Westergaard's fight for the right to speak freely is her vehement opposition to shutting down the Hamburg-based European-Iranian Trade Bank (EIH), a terror entity whose revenues help prop up the Iranian regime and suppress freedom of press in Iran.

It is also disturbing that the city of Hamburg would essentially be used as the European financial center of the Islamic Republic of Iran and that the EIH has essentially been used as a conduit for Iran's missile and nuclear program. That helps explain why the U.S. Treasury Department on Tuesday designated the bank a terrorist entity. According to Stuart Levey, who is spearheading anti-terror measures across the globe for the U.S Treasury Department, "As one of Iran's few remaining access points to the European financial system, EIH has facilitated a tremendous volume of transactions for Iranian banks previously [blacklisted] for proliferation.

Lost in Translation or An Abyss of Demagoguery

The Sarrazin affair has hit international headlines, which is not entirely a good thing. For example (just one of many, this Yahoo/AFP article, "German banker hits nerve with anti-immigration book", gets it subtly and thus dangerously wrong. Let me pick on two details. Quoting the leading, well, THE, German newsmagazine DER SPIEGEL it says:
Thilo Sarrazin's book "is not convincing, but it has convinced many people," said the influential Spiegel magazine, which this week has the Bundesbank executive on its cover, calling him a "people's hero."
And further down in the article:
Sarrazin has no intention of doing any such thing [i.e. setting up his own political party], but the survey raised fears that a charismatic right-wing populist in Germany, like anti-Islam MP Geert Wilders in the Netherlands, could win considerable political support.
This is misleading on several levels.

First, somewhat naturally, it doesn't get across the sneering, contemptuous overtones of the German DER SPIEGEL article and the English translation is toned down considerably. For example, while the English DER SPIEGEL article is headed "Why Sarrazin's Integration Demagoguery Has Many Followers", the cover of the print edition says bluntly: "Volksheld Sarrazin -- Warum so viele Deutsche einem Provokateur verfallen". This is disingenuous because anything connected to the word "Volk" evokes, in German, memories of Nazi-terminology and is cunningly exploited by those who intend to give others a bad name. So "Volksheld" doesn't just mean "people's hero" but has nasty overtones which subtly allude to something sinister and unwanted. Second, Estimated 18% share Sarrazin's views and 18% do not a people's hero make.

The subtitle of the cover says: "Warum so viele Deutsche einem Provokateur verfallen". This can be translated simply as: "Why so many people fall for a trouble maker/rabble rouser/agitator/somebody who fishes for a reaction". (I couldn't find a 1:1 English translation for the word "Provokateur".) But what is really interesting is the verb "verfallen". It can indeed be translated as "to fall for", but it has strong overtones of "to get addicted to" or "to become a slave of". It used to be used in a sexual sense as well, but has become somewhat archaic. To use it in this context insinuates an extracerebral reaction from those who are supporting Sarrazin. They don't see his points, they don't support him because they have come to see that he is right, they have become addicted to him, or his slaves.

Talk about demagoguery.

The Yahoo/AFP article then says that the support for Sarrazin raises fears that a charismatic right-wing populist in Germany, like Geert Wilders in Holland, might win political support on a large scale. I have said before that Sarrazin has carefully distanced himself from Geert Wilders (whether that was a good thing to do or not is a different question) and has the charisma of a floor vase, so there goes the "populist". Part of this is that, different from Wilders, Sarrazin is entirely void of any vanity. He is one of the leading economists of his generation, not a politician, although he used to hold a public office. To insinuate that he might set up his own party and thus evoke fear of "right wing extremism" is not just disingenuous, it is demagoguery of the vilest sort.

One last point: Sarrazin is not "right wing" by any definition. If anything, he is a somehow surviving fossil of the European Socialdemocratic "Old Left", law-abiding revisionists with a strong law and order strain. Eugenics were openly discussed in Germany among Social Democrats pre-1933, but to no practical avail, notabene because of the resistance by the conservative bourgeois powers, men who are considered now "right wing extremists". Of course, nobody of the readers of this blog will know all those long-dead (many of them prematurely because of REAL "right wing extremist" action) old Germans, but maybe some remember Tommy Douglas, another one of that extinct breed.

"Right wing extremism" has nothing do do with it, but it sounds good, pushes the right (or rather: left) buttons and keeps the people where they belong: Anxious, frightened, insecure and addicted to and slaves of the debased left wing ideology as preached by, for example, DER SPIEGEL.

18% Poor Misguided Perverts

I took my car to the garage this morning and thus had a brief chance to listen to the radio. It was a public station, Deutschlandfunk, the programme "Presseschau", press review. Süddeutsche Zeitung, the battle rag of the left with delusions of intellectualism, let us know from a great height, that one ought to understand the poor misguided 18 percent of the German people who are pro Thilo Sarrazin, the rabble rouser. Guess what makes them tick? They are, pathetic and unenlightened as they are, "afraid of modernity".

All this is stunning. Those people are not afraid of modernity, they are afraid to LOSE modernity (whatever that is) and to be sent back to prae-modernity. To call this "Middle Ages" would be unfair to the -- to our -- Middle Ages.

It is beyond belief what the simple truth is able to trigger, if somebody speaks out who can not, different from little and even big bloggers, be ignored. And what is even more beyond belief is the cynicism and contempt of the oh-so enlightened media for their readers.

Germany at A Historic Turning Point?

We are living in a country where the economist Thilo Sarrazin was slandered by the Green politician Renate Künast as "debased" und "unfeeling" because he was quoting figures and statistics, in which a German-Turkish minister from Lower Saxony, who had tried to oblige the media to follow "culturally sensitive" speak when it comes to Turkish migrants, proudly states that she "doesn't need statistics and analysis" because she "knows migrants".

Humanity and life triumph over satanic statistics which reduce "people to numbers". Even the chancellor, herself a scientist, took up the new cuddly speak and let us know how she really felt. Everything else would mean to talk about one's own shortcomings anyway.

Because Thilo Sarrazin states what can't be denied: A minority refuses to integrate because they despise this society, its culture and the native population, whose representatives don't dare to demand the necessary respect. That is the main issue of the debate, which will now be hunted down and mopped up -- together with Thilo Sarrazin.

It is of previously unknown sleaziness what is sold to us as debating culture, as open-mindedness and vibrant multiculti. The representatives of the German-Turkish community are acting miffed and deny the problem.

Politicians are counting on votes from that clientele and nobody speaks up for the native population who have, very probably, reasons for not wanting to be told towards whom they ought to be culturally sensitive.

And Sarrazin? He is the whipping boy who is met with sheer and undiluted dehumanizing contempt and hatred, and who, despite of all this, tries in an almost touching way, again and again, to get across a reasoned argument.

All those involved have made utter fools of themselves with their phoney, hypocritical "humanity" and the majority of Germans now see Sarrazin as an upright, honourable man who has integrity and backbone and who lacks the slippery sliminess with which the others have made themselves unassailable.

The causa Sarrazin is a historic turning point for this country, and that doesn't suggest anything good.

This is a feature by rbb, a public law (state-controlled) broadcaster. The good thing is that, in its attempt to discredit Sarrazin, it shows the hypocrisy of the political and opinion making elite in full fly.

Obviously, Sarrazin has the charisma of a floor vase, which makes him rather more credible.

The above text down to the video is an excerpt and a rough translation of a radio commentary by Dr. Cora Stephan, political scierntist and journalist.

The video was dubbed with English subtitles by Vlad Tepes.

Thanks to both.

The JPost Agrees with Us

Benjamin Weinthal in today's Jpost:
BERLIN – “Everyone’s against Sarrazin!” was the headline that Bild,Germany’s largest daily newspaper, chose for its Tuesday issue. Deutsche Bundesbank board member Thilo Sarrazin has sharply criticized both German Muslims for failing to embrace integration and Islam for its tendency to lead to terror.

Sarrazin, 65, a former Social Democratic finance commissioner for Berlin state (2002- 2009), has become, according to some observers, the subject of a feeding frenzy by the German media and political establishment, which is turning an unconventional thinker into a pariah.

“What did he say that was so sensational? You can look up all the facts. You can see – Germany supposedly loves people who think outside the box. [Eh? What?] But Germans don’t trust non-conformist opinions. That’s why this witch-hunt is happening,” the well-known German-Jewish journalist Henryk M. Broder said.

While Turkish and Islamic organizations have accused Sarrazin of racism and damaging Germany’s reputation abroad, the prominent German- Turkish sociologist and best-selling author Necla Kelek, who has defended Sarrazin, introduced him at a Berlin press conference on Monday attended by roughly 300 journalists, a number normally reserved for Chancellor Angela Merkel’s infrequent press appearances.

Kelek said Sarrazin addressed “bitter truths” in his new book and the chattering classes have judged it without reading it.

[...]

Regarding Islam, Sarrazin said, “No other religion in Europe makes so many demands. No immigrant group other than Muslims is so strongly connected with claims on the welfare state and crime. No group emphasizes their differences so strongly in public, especially through women’s clothing. In no other religion is the transition to violence, dictatorship and terrorism so fluid.”

While Sarrazin has tapped into a raw nerve among the politically and socially correct elites of Germany, which roundly slammed him for his language, his critique of Muslims and his right to articulate his views enjoy widespread support within mainstream German society. Polls have revealed extraordinary levels of approval for Sarrazin, ranging from 85 percent to 95% of those questioned.

The first edition of his 460- page book (25,000 copies) promptly sold out, and a second edition of 15,000 was quickly purchased, prompting a third edition (70,000) and a fourth (80,000) to be commissioned.

CNN Turkey said on its news site that “The Netherlands has their Gert Wilders. Germany has its Thilo Sarrazin.” Wilders, leader of the Party for Freedom in his country, has waged a campaign against political Islam in the Netherlands. The Sarrazin debate had dominated the Turkish press.

The furor associated with Sarrazin’s book has led to a bizarre wave of anti-intellectual hysteria, triggering leading German politicians and journalists to trash Germany Abolishes Itself without having read it. A bookstore in Hildesheim, 30 km. southeast of Hanover, announced the cancellation of Sarrazin’s first public reading on Thursday due to “security concerns” in connection with a group called “Alliance against the Right.”

The Alliance has urged on a poster that Sarrazin be kidnapped.

Arno Widmann, a cultural editor for the Frankfurter Rundschau daily, whose writings are considered to be anti-Israeli by some, went so far as to call for the prosecutor’s office to indict Sarrazin for inciting hatred.

[...]

While the discussion about a shared genetic makeup among Jews was reported on in June in The New York Times and Jewish newspapers, Germans react in a Pavlovian way to genetic theories, because the Nazis employed biological racial theories to dehumanize Jews and other groups. All of this helps to explain the hysterical attacks on Sarrazin’s references to Jewish genetics.

Germany’s Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle went so far as to term Sarrazin’s comments “anti-Semitic and racist.”

Back in 2002, Westerwelle could not bring himself to rope in Jürgen Möllemann’s (then a top Free Democratic Party politician) mass-mailing of election flyers bashing prime minister Ariel Sharon. Möllemann’s campaign strategy was widely viewed as the first public use of anti-Semitism to win over voters since the Hitler movement.

Leading members of the FDP, including Westerwelle and Development Minister Dirk Niebel, have refused to recognize the outbreak of Israel-hatred within the FDP as modern anti-Semitism.

Meanwhile, Sarrazin further clarified his comment and said, “A statement I made in an interview on August 29, 2010, caused irritation and misunderstanding that I regret. When I said that ‘all Jews share a particular gene,’ I did not express myself with sufficient precision.”

Does that make Sarrazin an anti-Semite? Broder, the Spiegel newsweekly commentator, offered what might very well be the most cogent explanation for Sarrazin’s statements about Jews.

“And there’s a second trick that’s being used now: he’s being accused of anti-Semitism. If you could accuse him of anything, it’s philo-Semitism, because he wrongly thinks Jews are more intelligent than others,” Broder said.

He added, “But of course, behind the anti-Semitism accusation you can really go after the man, because anti-Semitism of course is no longer acceptable in Germany, and rightly so. There is no substantive debate here at all – the issue is that a nation gets up, as it were, they all agree and they take it all out on a scapegoat who they’d like to send into the desert. It’s very disturbing.”

Sarrazin has acknowledged that he used emotionally charged language to jolt Germans out of a dogmatic slumber about their country’s failed integration policies toward Muslims. His rhetoric is at times prone to clumsy generalizations and sweeping provocations. The efforts to silence him and prevent a debate about his book seem to prove his thesis correct. A closing of the German mind does not help advance the discussion about the dangers of German Islamism and failed assimilation programs.
Well, what can I say but: a very good summary of our entry from one day ago.

By the way, the comparison of the dour, dry, understated Thilo Sarrazin with the much younger, flamboyant and charismatic Geert Wilders is totally inapproriate. Sarrazin didn't waste any time, too, to distance himself, in typical insular German thinking, from Wilders, which shows that even he hasn't quite twigged what REALLY is as stake and that it's not about Germany only.

The New Decalogue

Commandment 1 - 10: "Thou Shalt Not Hurt Muslims" ... and specifically not with the truth.

A leading member of Germany’s federal bank (Bundesbank) and former finance minister for Berlin, has caused "outrage" by speaking the truth.

Thilo Sarrazin (65) holds a doctorate of economics from Bonn University, in 1975, he began working in the Federal Ministry of Finance, until 1981 he served as Head of Unit in the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, 1981 he returned to the Federal Ministry of Finance. From October 1981 he served as bureau chief and was a close collaborator of then Federal Finance Minister Hans Matthöfer and his successor Manfred Lahnstein. Even after the end of the socialdemocratic-liberal coalition in October 1982, Sarrazin remained in the Finance Ministry, where he became director of several units, including (from 1989 to 1990) the "Innerdeutsche Beziehungen" (inner-German relationships) unit, from where the German monetary, economic and social union was kicked off. From 1990 to 1991 Sarrazin worked for the Treuhand. Then he was up to 1997 State Secretary in the Ministry of Finance in Rhineland-Palatinate. Subsequently, he was chief executive of TLG Immobilien, a Treuhand successor, before he became finance minister in Berlin. He is still a member of the Social Democrats (SPD).

A heavyweight by any other name.

Now he has written a book titled "Deutschland schafft sich ab: Wie wir unser Land aufs Spiel setzen" -- "Germany Does away/Abolishes Itself: How we Jeopardize Our Country". His concern is that immigrants who do not integrate are undermining German identity.

The thrust of the book is particularly aimed at -- who would have thought so -- Muslims. Sarrazin points out that only 3% of men of Turkish origin and only 8% of women of Turkish origin marry Germans. This compares badly with other groups, he says. He says that in Berlin 20% of all acts of violence are carried out by only 1,000 Turkish and Arab youths; a population group that makes up only 0.03% of the actual population in Berlin.

"I don’t want the country of my grandchildren and forefathers to be in broad swathes Muslim, where Turkish and Arabic is widely spoken, where women wear headscarves and where the daily rhythm of life is set by the call of the muezzin", Sarrazin wrote in an extract published in Der Spiegel on August 22.

He says of Islam that "with no other religion is there such a fluid connection between violence, dictatorship and terrorism as there is with Islam". He says "boys are taught an exaggerated idea of the readiness to be violent... for the sake of honour you must take the role all the more seriously the less successful you are in the school system". He says that Muslim immigrants are "unwilling or incapable of integrating into Western society". He says that Germany is on the road to ruin because of the influx of immigrants from the Middle East which would overwhelm the indigenous population and create a nation of ‘dunces’. He says that in particular Muslims are failing to integrate. He says that this has been going on virtually since the war since when the birthrate of native Germans has been steadily falling. He says that the result has been a "dramatic fall" in literacy and numeracy. He says, too, that "Germany is becoming more stupid".

All that is true.

The reactions are stunning, but not amazing.

Kenan Kolat, a leading member of the Turkish community, who thinks that the Turkish genocide of the Armenians ought not to be taught in schools becaus this would put "psychological pressure" on Turkish pupils and will endanger "national peace" (sic!), and who, notabene, prefers the word "participation" to "integration", labelled Sarrazin's stance "pure racism" and called on the Bundesbank to sack him. "This man is trying to reduce the problem (of integration) to the ethnic origin of people and is then vilifying them on that basis". Well on what else? We don't have major problems with other immigrants.

The Central Council of Muslims (shrewdly named after the "Central Council of Jews" to give it credibility it doesn't possess) called him "the embodiment of an ugly German" and its speaker Aiman Mazyek "a Nazi in pinstripes", something of which nobody would accuse Mr. Mazyek (below left).

The board of the Muslim Central Council: Aiman Mazyek, Dr. Ayyub Axel Köhler (German convert), Maryam Brigitte Weiß (German convert), Burhanettin Dag, Yakup Tufan.

Siemens boss Peter Loescher (not in this picture -- yet and just), stated with refreshing honesty that Sarrazin's comments "are damaging the international reputation of Germany as a business location". Yes, Germans really get that democracy and free speech thingy. It must be in their genes.

But it gets better. In a newspaper interview about his book Sarrazin said that "all Jews share a gene", which accounts for their higher intelligence. While this true as well, to Germans, that's even a bigger howler than accusing Muslims not to integrate. What a wonderful opportunity to show "how much we have learned from our past". The mob devours Sarrazin. Calling for the burning of his book will be the logical next step.

German’s Jewish community reacted with scorn and horror and accused Sarrazin of -- you've guessed it -- antisemitism and of calling for racial profiling. "Whoever tries to define Jews by their genetic make up succumbs to racism", so Stephan Kramer, secretary of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, and a convert to Judaism from the people of perpetrators. Kramer's general record gives reason for the question whether he was planted as an agent provocateur to give Jews a bad name.

Germany’s openly homosexual Vice-(pun intended)-Chancellor and Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle who is, somewhat understandibly, wildly into politically correct causes, accused the banker of hate speech and, given his intellectual capacities, I wonder how long it took him to come up with something quite that original. He thinks, too, that remarks that feed racism or even (sic!) antisemitism have no place in our political discourse. And all that in an interview with the smutty weekly "Bild am Sonntag", no less.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel condemned Sarrazin for making "stupid and pointless" statements. His book, she said, isn't "helpful", as if her job was to issue book reviews and even before the book was on the market. She said, too, that the Bundesbank should discuss dismissing him, which is none of her business either. A spokesman for the Bundesbank said in an e-mail statement, that the book is Sarrazin’s "private affair" and the opinions he expresses are unrelated to his work, something Merkel, who holds a doctorate in physics, is obviously too dumb to twig.

Meanwhile, the assorted Chamber of Horrors exhibits crawled out from under their stones. Professor Wolfgang Benz, a discredited but nonetheless, or rather therefore, terrifically successful "antisemitism researcher", called Sarrazin's theses -- surely you've guessed this as well -- racist and himself a squaller, lout and somebody who caters for the bowel-movements of the social majority. Well yes. Now we know at least what the "antisemitism researcher" thinks of democracy. Likewise, ex-bishopette Margot "Boozebitch" Kässmann, who is treated by the public and the media as if she had (almost) died for our sins and not driven her official car pissed as a newt through a German city, showed even more powerful creativity by calling Sarrazin "dehumanizing". Burp!

Media personality Michel Friedman who had fallen even deeper than fun-loving boozette Kässmann through an affair involving cocain usage and forced prostitutes from Eastern Europe, has as well long ago made a triumphant comeback because German television, shallow and whorish as it is, allowed it. Friedman, now heavily married and a family man, obviously needed, after his vocal condemnation of Pope Benedict in 2009, another whipping boy to attract what he loves most: attention. "We need bridge builders in Germany, not hate preachers." Well, yes, whatever.

Aygül Özkan, that insufferable simpering fool they made "minister for integration" in the state of Lower Saxony (that's the one who had nothing better to do than to discuss the removal of crucifixes from classrooms before she was even sworn in, to later fail with an attempt at curbing the freedom of the press) accused Thilo Sarrazin, and, too, in smutty "Bild am Sonntag", of "malice" and to "hurt migrants". While, say, pedophilia has become a venial sin as long as it's not a Catholic priest who practises it (and in case of Muslims it's not a sin at all), "Thou shalt not hurt Muslims" -- and specifically not with the truth -- has become the only commandment of importance.

All of them are, of course, not populist, only Thilo Sarrazin is that.

I have limited this entry for obvious reasons more or less to people I have covered before in this blog. It is impossible to even begin to give an impression of what is really going on, of the veritable witch hunt that is in full fly in Germany right now. A man who is, to all intents and purposes, a heavyweight and qualified by training and professional experience to speak expertly on many issues, is marginalized, ridiculed, dismissed by people who are not worth to clean his office lavatory. It is spooky, eerie, surreal. An entire people seems to have become mad. Utterly, stark, barking, clinically insane. An entire people hunts down a man who dares to speak the truth, a people who are put under pressure and threats by Muslims, threats which increase in severeness and frequency on a daily basis, a people that is bled white financially and emotionally by ever increasing strident demands and greed for power of a group of hostile aliens, and what is the worst: they are really and truly believing that they are being noble and doing the right thing.

And now, I think, the question is in order whether I have read Sarrazin's book myself. No I haven't. This is not a book review, but a report of the mood in Germany. Why didn't I read it? Simple! I tried to get one yesterday, the day after publication. When I looked at Amazon, it was sold out, all four editions. When I called the local bookshop, I got the same answer. All four editions means 180,000 copies. More to come in two weeks. I guess this, at least, is good news.

The Serious Duty to Instruct and Improve Jews

The debased cruelty with which Israeli soldiers treat their prisoners to then have their photographs taken and published at Facebook is a historically unique crime of Jewry as such, reaching so far unknown proportions and not the brainfart of an abysmally dumb &%*$§. The history of the Holocaust will have to be re-written. Germans breathe a not-so-clandestine sigh of relief.

What does Google, always so helpful, say? If one googles for "trophy photos soldiers" one gets 531,000 hits, some as interesting as this one or this one. And no, they are not about Israeli soldiers.

Head of a Japanese, Burma 1945.

Life Magazine,May 22 1944
Arizona war worker writes her Navy boyfriend a thank-you note for the Jap skull he sent her.
Defense worker N. Nickolson writes to her sweetheart thanking him for his letter and "souvenir." This skull of a Japanese soldier bears the inscription: "Here is a good Jap -- a dead one!"
As it ought to be, and I am serious here, those pictures are put in a historic perspective by many contemporary and more recent commenters. It is an enlightening lecture about history and human nature. If one goes then on googling for "trophy photos soldiers -israel -jews" one gets 322,000 hits, for "trophy photos soldiers -israel -jews -iraq" only 242,000. What conclusion can be drawn from that? I'm not 100% sure, but a possible one would be that American war crimes, real or perceived, only started to become truly interesting for a wider public, and not even mainly in Germany, when America had mutated in the public eye to the Ersatz-Jew, acting as proxy for Israel, the Über-Jew.

This is the execution of Sergeant Len Siffleet of the Australian Z Special Force Unit on October 24, 1943, at Aitaoe beach, New Guinea, performed by a Japanese civilian. Such a duty was considered an honour. Japanese have immaculate manners.
The faded photograph was found in a Japanese soldier's pocket and yet still chills the heart of Australians.
I'm sure the Australians wouldn't have gotten their knickers in such a knot had they only known, what Israelis would do to their prisoners sixty-odd years later.
Not to forget the recent cases, but they are part of the culture of the performers and thus above criticism per se. Culture is wonderful, as long as it's not Western. Never forget, too, that they are deeply traumatized by the cruel treatment they received from the West. And who are we, anyway, with our past and present, capitalism, imperialism, White Supremacy, colonialism, not to speak of the Holocaust, to be arrogant enough to lecture them what is wrong or what is right.

That, we must only do to the Jews.

What One Needs to Know about Islam

The controversial "Ground Zero" mosque will be launched by the so-called Cordoba Initiative. So Cordoba stands for the legendary Al-Andalus, where Muslims, Christians and Jews lived together in peace, right?

Not quite. Cordoba stands for many other things as well. It was the name of the Islamic empire's center, from where Islam ruled most of the then known world. It's stands for one of the grandest mosques of that time which was, notabene, built on the ashes of a Christian Visigoth church. It stands, too for a massacre of the Jews of Cordoba in 1011 (yes, Al-Andalus wasn't quite what Muslims and their enablers would like us to believe) and for the rape of the city by the Almohades in 1148. Some websites claim that the year 1011 carries some symbolism as well, but while that is entirely possible, it is too far-fetched to make it a point here.

To understand the full implications one has to know two basically simple things:

First, Christians and Jews build their places of worship to, well, worship. Muslims build mosques to symbolize Islamic supremacy over others, to proselytize, to politicize, as an arsenal.

Second, Muslims act on symbols.

The Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem on top of the Jewish temple symbolizes Islamic supremacy over Judaism, the Ummayyad Mosque in Syria is built on top of St. John the Baptist, Hagia Sophia in Constantinople was converted into a mosque as a symbol of Islamic supremacy over Christianity. The Cordoba Initiative mosque will be built on the ashes of almost thousand Americans who couldn't be recovered after September 11, 2001. An innocent naive fallacy? Maybe, but I doubt it.

Here are some examples from Germany, my country, a country with, as of 2009, 4.3 million Muslims (5.4% of the population). Of these, 1.9 million are German citizens (2.4%). As of 2006, there were about 15,000 ethnic German converts. The large majority are of Turkish origin. Most Muslims live in Berlin and the big cities of former West Germany, mainly in the those of the industrial stronghold along the rivers Rhine and Ruhr.

The Yavuz-Sultan-Selim mosque in Mannheim is one of the biggest in Germany. Its patron, Selim I was the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire from 1512 to 1520. Selim carried the empire to the leadership of the Sunni branch of Islam by his conquest of the Middle East. On the eve of his death in 1520, the Ottoman empire spanned almost 1 billion acres.

More than 50 mosques in Germany are called Fatih. Fatih means conqueror and refers to Mehmet II who was Sultan of the Ottoman Empire for a short time from 1444 to September 1446, and later from February 1451 to 1481. At the age of 21, he conquered Constantinople in a bloodbath, bringing an end to the Byzantine Empire. Mehmet continued his conquests in Asia, with the "Anatolian reunification", and in Europe as far as Belgrade.

Other popular names for mosques in Germany are:

Aksa/Aqsa means "farthest", and in this context the "farthest [so far] from Mecca". The Muslim claim to Jerusalem and the Holy Land comes in here as well.

Ayasofya is emblematic for and purposefully reminiscent of Christian humiliation.

Hicret (arabic ‏مسجد هجرة ‎ hidschra) refers to Mohammeds flight from Mekka to Medina in 622.

Imam Ali.

Al-Quds stands for Jerusalem. (It was an Al-Quds mosque in Hamburg from where Mohammed Atta set out to promote his very own brand of conquering.)

Selimiye refers to the megalomaniac Selimiye mosque in Edirne:

Then we have the Merkez mosque in Duisburg (Merkez means stronghold in Turkish), currently the biggest in Germany and probably in Europe as well. I discussed it previously for example here and here.

The controversial projected mosque in Cologne is called "Merkez" as well, which is (politically correct) translated not as "stronghold", but as "center". Everything not to let Muslims appear in a less than angelic light. I have covered the interesting and complex controvery that was triggered by the Cologne mosque, but went far beyond, it here:Another popular name for mosques in Germany is Bilal. No, this has no apparent, blatant connection to Muslim conquest, however, it is interesting in a different sort of way. The Ethiopian Bilal ibn Ribah was the first Muezzin in the history of Islam and called from the rooftop of the first mosque, no minaret in sight. Until today, minarets are not mandatory in Saudi Arabia and many minaret-less and relatively inornate mosques among the older ones, some of them very important, can be seen there. Why? What about "symbolism"? Saudi Arabia was, and is, Muslim heartland and needed no "spearheads" to impress and bully infidels.

Ask for the name of the mosque next to you and do a quick Google search. The result might be interesting.

One more word about the Cordoba Initiative. Granted for argument's sake that the Ground Zero mosque, pardon me, the Cordoba outreach center to make better people of infidels, was planned and is being realized in good faith. Then we still have to deal with the sensitivity aspect, haven't we. Wasn't it abundantly clear in the first stages of the planning process already that only too many Americans wouldn't react kindly to a project like that? It seems that the sensitivity and respect Muslims are always so stridently demanding for themselves is utterly missing when they are addressing non-Muslims. Is it too far fetched to speculate how the idea of a German cultural center together with Protestant church, theater, swimming pool, the lot, as a gesture of reconciliation at the Westerplatte would be received by the Poles? Or why the Japanese did never propose a center for the promotion of their culture at Pearl Harbor?

I will never forget where I have been when 9/11 happened and how long it took for the reality of WHAT had happened to seep in -- and the horror when it finally had. Shortly after 9/11, an anonymous New Yorker released a Macromedia Flash presentation with a collage of news photos from the attacks and the victims. "Only Time" by Enya (which I hadn't heard before) was used as a soundtrack. The Flash presentation spread rapidly over the internet and it is still available. I don't know how many times I've watched it during the days and weeks following 9/11, bawling my eyes out. 30 times? 50 times? How can I ever forget the pictures of those who chose to fall to their death rather than to burn or to suffocate. Some choice. How the thought of the hundreds of firefighters who rushed to the scene to never come back? How the face of the gallant Father Mychal Judge who died, 68 years old, in a hail of steel and concrete as he administered the last rites to a firefighter and an office worker. And you, you who have been there, allow THEM to build one of their disgusting symbols of heathen supremacy over YOUR culture on the ashes of the victims.

What else do you need to know about Islam?

No Christian Values Christian Politician Says

René Stadtkewitz, the Berlin lawmaker who invited Geert Wilders to a political event in Berlin on October 2, is facing expulsion from his parliamentary group, the CDU.

SPON is the online version of the leftist battle rag mother of all political magazines in Germany, where the party of the hardcore-GDR-educated leftist Angela Merkel is doggedly called "conservative" and Geert Wilders with boring predictability as "right-wing populist". SPON informed us about the Stadtkewitz affair and even spared no efforts to find a pickie on which Stadtkewitz looks as ugly and cadaverous as humanly possible.
Frank Henkel, the CDU's regional parliamentary group leader, gave Stadtkewitz an ultimatum: Withdraw the invitation by July 26 or face the consequences.

Stadtkewitz refused in an open letter in which he also suggested that the CDU should be doing more to combat Islam politically. Up until now, public debate about the Islamic faith had been "too timid" in Germany, Stadtkewitz wrote. He added that the debate should focus on the defense of freedom and of Christian values, including concerns about "countless young women, who are forced into arranged marriages, enslaved and who sometimes become victims of so-called honor killings."

'No Place in Our Party'

Henkel responded Monday by saying that he would propose a motion to exclude Stadtkewitz from the parliamentary group because he had distanced himself from "the goals of the conservatives."
From which the conclusion can be safely drawn that the defense of freedom and of Christian values, including concerns about young women, who are forced into arranged marriages, enslaved and who become victims of so-called honour killings are not the goals of those "conservatives". I repeat: He gives a damn for the frightening number of honour killings of girls and women in his city and elsewhere, he couldn't care less for enslaved and forcibly married women, he flips the bird to the Christian faith, which is still, albeit yet and just, part of the name of his own party, in brief, he refuses to serve and protect the people he has sworn to serve and protect.

It gets worse:
Henkel said Berlin set a positive example of integration and immigration for the whole of Germany. "There is no place in our party for people who demonize Islam and pass judgment on believers in other religions," Henkel explained.
He is lying through his teeth and he knows quite well that this is not about "believers in other religions". Neither Russian Orthodox Christians nor Vietnamese Buddhists, Confucianists, or Taoists are a problem, and neither are Jews. This is about Islam and Islam only, and nobody needs to "pass judgment" or "demonize" Islam, because what Islam and those who believe in it do in its name is for everybody to see.

He knows, too, that Berlin is one of those cities where in "migrant quarters", which make up for a considerable part of the city, the rule of law doesn't apply anymore because the monopoly on the use of physical force has become void. For "migrants" take "Muslims".

More positive examples of integration and immigration in Berlin, anybody?

In Berlin, during the last two Football World Cups, policemen were banned from sporting German flags at their cars because it "might be provocative to supporters of other teams". Of course, this was meant to appeal to people like Poles, Italians and Dutch who are known for their violence and rioting. Not.

At an exhibition "The Third World during the Second World War" in Berlin 2009, the "Grand Mufti of Jerusalem"'s collaboration with the Nazis, which had a decisive influence on the Holocaust (we reported many times already) wasn't exhibited at all "out of respect for joint Arab organisations". The decision was supported by the migration commissioner of the Berlin Senate, Günter Piening because in a neighbourhood (heavily dominated by Muslims) like Neukölln a "differentiated presentation" was paramount. Doubtlessly an excellent example for how "positive examples of integration and immigration" are understood in Berlin.

In 2008, a Berlin senior prosecuting attorney made two mistakes. He took a hard line bringing young criminals to justice and declared publicly that ca. eighty percent of those are not ethnic Germans, which was against the policy of only recognizing "positive examples of integration and immigration". The result? The Berlin government muzzled and then transfered him to a position where he surely couldn't do any more harm to "positive examples of integration and immigration". Hint: Ethnic Russians, Poles or Italians were rather underrepresented among those "non-ethnic Germans".

Surely Henkel doesn't know either the Rütli Schule, where after DECADES of inaction admiration of "positive examples of integration and immigration" the percentage of pupils with "a migration background" had reached a number that made calling in the police and a temporary closing down of the school inevitable. Hint: It weren't the Russian, Polish or Italian children who were the reason for that.

Now what makes a man like Henkel tick? Why is he so blatantly, openly and shamelessly lying? Because this goes far beyond denial or ignorance. Is he paid by some oil-rich sheik, the age-old argument to explain dhimmitude? I don't think so. Frankly, other than that limp "I don't think so", I don't have a ready answer either. As it is, it just seems that a mixture of belief in multiculturalism, Gutmenschentum and general spinelessness, coupled with the old German yearning to be dominated by a totalitarian cult, is answerable for that.

It's Islam, Stupid!

Not even three months ago we reported that Aygül Özkan (38), the designated Minister for Social Affairs in the German state of Lower Saxony, had caused some controversy when she called for a ban the crucifix in state schools before she was even sworn in. Özkan is now Germany's first Muslim minister on government level and has taken over the "integration" portfolio from the Ministry of the Interior, to which it used to belong.

Lawyer-by-training and German by naturalisation Özkan also sees German courts as an "alien authority" and would like to see more Turks in that office.

Now Özkan is about to introduce a "Media Charter" for Lower Saxony. During a collective act on August 16 in Hannover, the invited media representatives are supposed to sign this so-called "Media Charter Integration". The written invitation says that the collective declaration of intent is supposed to generate a publicity effect and all undersigned will have to pledge themselves to "strongly support the integration process in Lower Saxony".

Özkan's ministry asks the media to declare in writing to increase reporting about circumstances and challenges connected to integration, to use "culturally sensitive" language doing so, to further "intercultural openness (which is, of course, humbug, because the term "intercultural" does not imply a one-way-street and don't we all know the "intercultural openness" of Muslims towards the West), to improve their "intercultural competence" (ditto), to initiate relevant projects and to cover them as journalists.

The NWZ goes on:
It is so far unique in Germany for the government of a federal state to pledge the media to a collective content and even the language used for that.
How very daring! But while Özkan had gotten a lot of backslapping by the media for her attempt at removing the crucifix from the public eye (who wants religion anyway, at least as long as it's Christian), by getting at the media itself, she went too far and didn't come by the usual fawning reception to which she must be used by now.

Here we have a woman, young, "modern", seemingly perfectly assimilated, educated to university level, the lot, yet the first thing she sets her mind on in her high office, even before she is sworn in, is the banning of the Christian symbol from schools and, not even three months later, the abolition of the freedom of the press in favour of her fellow Muslims. Because in spite of all the "integration" and "people with a migration background" hogwash it's just about one thing: Islam. Just as for this woman, young, "modern", seemingly perfectly assimilated, educated to university level, everything is about that. Always. Islam is like that.

How AP Manipulates

(But of course not JUST AP...)

The following headline caught my eyes at Google News. Of course, I already knew of the incident. It was the was it was worded:

Youths attack Jewish dance group in Germany

So "youths" did that. How ... youthful of them! Here's the rest for those who bother to read past the headline:
By KIRSTEN GRIESHABER (AP) – Jun 24, 2010

BERLIN — Arab youths threw stones at a Jewish dance group during a street festival in Hannover, injuring one dancer and forcing the group to cancel its performance, German police and dance officials said Thursday.

The teenagers also used a megaphone to shout anti-Semitic slurs during the attack Saturday, Hannover police spokesman Thorsten Schiewe said.

"I don't remember such a dramatic attack in Germany in recent times," said Michael Fuerst, the head of the Jewish community of the state of Lower Saxony. [Which is of course the height of idiocy. If synagogues need police protection -- and they do: Why is that? Ethnic Germans have, in their majority, ceased to attack Jews physically, at least for the time being. (As it is, they just let "youths with a migration background" get away with it.)]

Six suspects have been identified — five Arabic immigrants and one German [And we can safely assume that this is the official euphemism for "second generation immigrant with a German passport" because ethnic Germans rarely dwell among "Arabic immigrants". But it makes us all feel better that "Germans do it as well", doesn't it?] — and police are looking for the other three, police said. The six range from nine to 19 years old and have been questioned by police.

Hannover prosecutors are investigating those involved on suspicion of incitement and causing serious bodily harm ... blah blah yabber yabber yack yack.
By the way, the organisers of the street festival didn't call the police, who was only involved later. Gee! I wonder why.

And now imagine for a moment what would have happened had ETHNIC German skinheads attacked a Turkish or Arab dance group (or any other group with an "oriental" background).

The Creeping De-Legitimisation of a Nation

In the federal state of Northrhine-Westphalia, policemen are not allowed to sport German flags at their cars during the Football World Cup because it might be provocative to supporters of other teams. The same applies to the city state of Berlin, where the ban was already applied four years ago. In the federal state of Sachsen-Anhalt, for example, there is no such ban. Is it possible that we have a demographic problem here?

Source: Statistik-Portal.
This chart shows the percentage of the German population with a "migration background" (including naturalised Germans) subdivided into federal states resp. city states. "Neue Länder" refers to the federal states which were created after reunification and of which Sachsen-Anhalt is one.

Meanwhile, two days ago, during the statutory meeting of the parliament of Northrhine-Westphalia following the elections im May, the newly elected member Arif Ünal (Greens) made his presence felt already by demanding that the adjuration ought to be changed from "for the good of the German people" to "for the good of the population of Northrhine-Westphalia".

Never underestimate demographics.

Facebook's Double Standard

Under the header Clear Hate of Jews on Facebook the English language version of Politically Incorrect, the most read of all political blogs in Germany, not just the Islam-critical ones, leads us down to the bilges of -- how shall I put it? -- a German subculture. By the way "potatoes" (="Kartoffeln" in the original) is a slur for ethnic Germans:

On Facebook an apparently deeply piled up hate of Jews is now being unloaded. Muslims living in Germany are freely exercising their genocidal fantasies. They don’t conceal their sympathies for the Holocaust and its author Adolf Hitler. The fact is openly bemoaned that he was unable to complete his gruesome work.

In light of the multitude of shocking texts, the usual diversions of a few simple rare occurrences can no longer be spoken of. Also, the study of the Amadeu Antonio Foundation of the previous year came to the conclusion that there is definitely a strong anti-Semitism among young Muslims. Something appears to be developing here that not only should cause the greatest concern, but must give occasion for even greater alarm, if it would be the right target group with Jew-hating Bio-German right-wing radicals, but there is the possibility that the well-wishing immigrant bonus is being employed here. For perhaps they don’t mean it that way, but it must still be explained to them how to understand “Mein Kampf” correctly. In the year 2007, this book of hate and incitement was still #3 on the bestseller list before it was officially banned there under instigation by the Bavarian State Government. But in a Turkey that has been re-Islamized at a fearfully fast pace, Hitler’s hate tirades appear to have become once again accepted and beloved. This is a seamless fulfillment of the Jew-hating scriptures of the prophet Muhammad, as these entries on Facebook very impressively confirm:

Betül Erdogan Prophet Juden töten Betül Erdogan: The prophet (s.a.s.) said that the hour will not come until the Muslims battle against and kill the Jews; until the Jew hides behind the rock and tree, and the rock and tree will say: Oh thou Muslim, oh thou servant of Allah, this is a Jew hiding behind me, come and kill him! Until this one is “gargat” off the trees of the Jews. It is recognized today that the Jews plant and cultivate this kind of tree.

Tuncay Ulusoy: jews stink

So much for the selection out of the flood of Jew-hating, Hitler-glorifying and death-wishing texts by German Muslims on Facebook. These people have also made themselves noticeable with violent rhetoric at the Gaza demonstrations of one and one-half years ago in Germany, when Hitler was openly invoked and the police removed an Israeli flag in order to prevent violent outbreaks of the mob. The insanity appears to be advancing: Saturday there will be a large anti-Jewish demonstration at the Kudamm in Berlin. A few would apparently like to engage themselves violently at the scene.

BuBu Mbt: i spit down on you above you filthy jews! Tuuuuuuuuuuh. On Saturday, June 5, 2010, a demo for Palestine and against the policies of Israel will take place at 4 PM in front of the Gedächtniskirche at the Kudamm. Everyone come and bring friends and acquaintances with you!! We must be a sign and show that we will stick together regardless of where we came. … DEMO FOR PALESTINE – SATURDAY, JUNE 5, 4 PM BERLIN KUDAMM !!! PASS ON TO EVERYONE !!!

Raffaello Kerdo: who’s coming on saturday to the demo?????? kill the jews off, or… ???

It will be interesting to see how politicians and media smooth over these scandalous affairs. And how noisy the silence of the Jewish Central Council will be.
