I sent the below e-mail to my favorite neocon champion (meaning, of course, my favorite champion of neocons, not my favorite neocon champion of myself)...That is exactly the sort of qualification I would make in such a grammatical and syntactic context -- and to then think I am too fussy because I am not a native English speaker.
I am relieved!
