Shit they make up as they go along
Now the Holy Sea is trying to deal with its first and so far only pop star, the Internet is a-twitter with speculation about the reason why precisely THIS pope had to make way for for the many pilgrims who are likely to come to visit John Paul II's remains.
One theory quotes a book from 2002, saying that Innocent might have been fallen from grace because the Odescalchi family had financed the campaigns of William of Orange who, at the Battle of the Boyne, defeated his father-in-law James II and forever removed Catholicism from the British throne.
What a clever supposition! So Innocent XI, né Benedetto Odescalchi, the saviour of the Occident, who was beatified himself in 1956, was removed in 2011 from his burial site because a book from 2002 had revealed that his family had been involved in some political shenanigans with an outcome that proved to be unfortunate for the Catholic world.
Give me a break!
And of course Innocent had a "frosty relationship" with France. What an astute observation. That was because the valiant Sun King, when Pope Innocent XI had called for a European Alliance alliance preceding the Battle of Vienna 1683, had to not only declined to join, but used the opportunity to raid cities in Alsace and other parts of South Germany.

The Rotting Fish That Is Sweden
Different from Denmark, where police, state and authorities take the issue of Muslim violence seriously, Jews get little support from their Swedish counterparts. Malmö's left-wing Mayor Ilmar Reepalu, for one, thinks that antisemitism comes from the extreme right. He also thinks, that the Jews have brought it unto themselves because they didn't distance themselves from the Israeli campaign in Gaza.
So what else is new.
Now yesterday's bomb blasts that shattered the Swedish capital have triggered really strong and principled responses from Sweden's top politicians, after they had assessed that there was really terrorist intent behind it and not just a wardrobe malfunction of a guy who wears bombs strapped to his body and a Palestinian headrag just for fun. PM Fredrik Reinfeldt called them 'unacceptable' and foreign minister Carl Bildt said in a Twitter message (no less) that it was the "most worrying attempt at terrorist attack in crowded part of central Stockholm". That'll teach them!
Yes, he really said "attempt"! And here am I, thinking that a terrorist attack was something that terrorizes people. But who knows, maybe all Swedes are as sanguine about the Evil of Islam as the mayor of Malmö and it takes much more than a piddling bomb blast with a dead terrorist -- alright, make that "bomb carrier" -- and two injured to terrorize them.

The Muezzin's Call
This is the popular Bavarian folk singer Maria Hellwig performing the Erzherzog Johann Jodler (Archduke John Yodeler) at the age of 69. Kudos! She was a trained soubrette and a much greater artist than her somewhat-too-folksy public image conveyed. This video gives a whiff of her talent. Last Friday she died at the age of 90. She brought pleasure to countless people. May she rest in peace.
The Erzherzog Johann Jodler is very probably THE most famous one of its kind, sometimes called the inofficial Styrian national anthem, written to honour the "Styrian Prince", Erzherzog Johann von Österreich -- Archduke John of Austria (1782 – 1859).
Johann was born in Florence as the thirteenth child of Archduke Leopold, later to become Emperor of Austria. In Styria, he is remembered as a great modernizer and an important figure of identification. In 1829, he married Anna Plochl, the daughter of the Posthalter of Aussee (a Posthalter used to be a well-to-do innkeeper at whose place the horses of the diligence were changed). The marriage was morganatic, its descendants were styled "Counts of Meran" and "Barons of Brandhofen". His one son from this marriage was Franz, Count of Meran. Among his 900 descendants is Johannes Nicolaus Graf de la Fontaine und d'Harnoncourt-Unverzagt, better known as Nicolaus Harnoncourt, conductor.The Archduke was a passionate mountaineer and attempted to be the first to climb the Großvenediger. The Erzherzog-Johann-Hütte (Adlersruhe) at the Großglockner, and the Archduke John's Vanilla Orchid (Nigritella rubra subsp. archiducis-joannis), an orchid growing on mountain meadows, are named after him.
By acquiring a tin factory in Krems bei Voitsberg and coal mines near Köflach he also became an industrialist. In 1840, he bought the Stainz dominion, where he was freely elected as mayor in 1850. His routing of the Austrian Southern Railway from Vienna to Triest over the Semmering and through the Mura and Mürz valleys to Graz is particularly notable.
Even though Johann did not consider himself, and wasn't, a liberal, he promoted some liberal ideas. He was often in conflict with the Habsburg court, especially but not exclusively, because of his morganatic marriage.
In 1848, the Frankfurt National Assembly appointed him Reichverweser, regent of the realm. After the failure of the March Revolution of 1848, he resigned from this office in 1849.
Archduke John died 1859 in Graz, where a fountain dominating the central square was erected in his honour.
Today, Manfred Kleine-Hartlage reports at his blog "Korrektheiten" that Muslims had enforced a yodelling ban. No, it's not a joke and it even has something to do with the above information. It recently happened in the city of Graz, that a man was fined 800 Euros because his yodelling offended Muslim neighbours. They accused the 63-year-old pensioner of mocking them by imitating the muezzin's call. The daily paper writes the Austrian was fined 800 Euros after judges ruled he might have tried to offend and ridicule them because they were in the middle of a praying session when he started yodelling.In-effing-credible!
While acts of dhimmitude are nothing new, this is, I think, specifically disgusting. A good yodeller will cut an audio-swath through canon roar and certainly through a muezzin's call, however, it is, to me, unfathomable how somebody can even BEGIN to compare this delightful bit of folk music to the caterwaul of a Muslim service. Maybe it was his intention to disturb and irritate them and it would have been bad enough had he been fined for that. But MOCKING? I'm not quite sure yet why this irritates me so much.

Language Help Needed
Obama, whose middle name is Hussein, has always maintained he is a ‘committed Christian’. But the news of his grandmother Sarah Omar’s wish to convert to Islam follows a poll, which found one in five believes he is a Muslim.To me, "to follow a poll" seems to mean "to confirm the results of a poll". That would make sense had the news snippet said: "...the news of his grandmother Sarah Omar’s wish to convert to Islam follows a poll, which found THAT ONLY one in five believes he is a Muslim." In that case, Grandma (Gosh, another disgusting Americanism!) Sarah asking him "to convert to Islam", and specifically the media hype about it, could be seen as one of the smokescreens put up to conceal that he is, in fact, a Muslim. As it is, I'm just befuddled.
Notabene that Grandma Sarah is not his biological grandmother, but one of several wives of his Muslim grandfather and yet how everybody seems to accept her role, fully aware of that fact and in spite of the implications.

Culturally Sensitive Village Fête
...it just came out that in December 2009 the bloody Shura Shia self-flagellation ritual was held in east London. 800 men participated, and it's going to happen again in Dec 2010. The police can't stop it.The report by the Express is traded as a revelation of sorts.

Shia Muslims use a five-bladed chain called a Zanjeer to whip their own backs and make cuts in their foreheads with razor blades in homage to their faith.It isn't really. A brief Google search rendered several reports from previous years, for example 2009 in Birmingham, or 2005 in London. (Kudos to the New Statesman!) It's just that nobody gives a damn.
Bare-chested men were left bleeding heavily during the ritual known as Matam – self-flagellation – which a witness described as being “like a scene from a horror film”.
The Sunday Express found that up to 800 men performed the bloody ceremony in secret at the Imamia Mosque in Forest Gate, east London, last year.
The Matam takes place during the annual Shia Ashura ceremony and commemorates the death of Husayn, a grandson of the prophet Muhammad. It is practised largely in Pakistan, Iran, Iraq and India as well as Yemen and Afghanistan but this is the first time it is known to have taken place in Britain.
Huge wooden screens were put up around the mosque to keep the event secret and prevent passers-by on busy Romford Road seeing the bloodletting.
The Sunday Express visited the mosque last week and learned that the ceremony took place last December and is due to be repeated next month. One man who witnessed the ceremony last year was so alarmed by what he saw he nearly passed out. He said: “There was blood everywhere. There were pools of blood on the ground and my clothes were splattered with blood. It was very scary.
“I was told it was part of a religious ceremony but the anti-western sentiment was clear. If the public had seen what was going on they would have reported it to the police. It was like a scene from a horror film.”
A devout member of the mosque who attended last year’s ceremony said he was proud of the thick Matam scars across his back and showed them to our photographer. Ameer Hamza, 21, a student from Forest Gate said: “I started doing it when I was a kid. ”
Scotland Yard said it was aware of the annual Ashura event at the mosque but had no knowledge of the bloodletting which it said it had no power to ban.
A spokesman said: “If it is on private property and no offence is being committed this is not a matter for the police. The Ashura is an annual community event which has taken place in Newham for many years.”
Newham Council said it had no knowledge of the Matam taking place and the Ministry of Justice said self-flagellation was not an offence.
Maybe the English are well advised to introduce more games that are sensitive towards the ever-growing ethnic diversity at local village fêtes, such as "stick the tail on the Muslim" or "guess the amount of blood those guys in the flaggelation contest lost", because guessing the weight of a pig should be really a no-no in these culturally aware days and times.

The Potential of Attention Whoredom
However, it's the circumstances that are really remarkable. Here we have somebody who converted to Islam, half-sister to somebody for whom the description "has been" would be quite apropos, and all the world is as ecstatic as if the Pope had. And now we have to suffer the ubiquitous pictures of another sickeningly simpering blonde clad in a headrag. The phenomenon that lets women put on a self-congratulatory, smug smirk as soon as they are wearing such a piece of cloth, is something else!
I educated myself about her because I had never heard of her before. At home, she enjoys (You BET!) a modest notability as a TV personality, just exactly the vulgar, obnoxious lower class broad with a horrible accent one would expect, who makes the max out of her faint connection with the pre-previous PM.
There is only one possible explanation. The corrupted media, hell-bent on the Islamisation of the West, are hoping for copycat conversions because they know quite well that women will fall for any (but ANY) little bit of potential attention whoredom, however cheap, however dangerous, however evil.

You still think it's a game, right?
No, this is not a joke. In fact, it is instead one of the most brilliant pieces of provocations in recent years. Greg Gutfeld from Fox News’ Red Eye announced today via his blog that he is actively speaking to investors and plans on opening a gay bar next to the controversial mosque being built near Ground Zero in New York. To make matters worse (better?) the bar will be specifically designed to cater to homosexuals of the Islamic faith. God, this is going to be an exciting block.Indeed! It's just that the premise is faulty. Coming from a culture, in which homosexual sex may be heavily tabooed but is in fact widely practised, the Cordoba Center dwellers will probably go on like the proverbial house on fire with American homosexuals. Now what exactly means catering "to homosexuals of the Islamic faith"? The answer is not pretty. What is widely practised as well but NOT tabooed in the Islamic world is sex with pre-pubescent boys, What about the dancing boys of Afghanistan? And no, that is not an isolated case. Do yourself a favour, dear reader, go to Google Trends and search for "sex boys". We've discussed this before here, by the way.
The Middle East cultures makes no distinction between sex with a woman and sex with a boy. In fact, they know no word for same-sex intercourse. Sex in Middle Eastern societies follows social hierarchies, dominant and subordinate social positions. Adult men on top, women and boys (and slaves) below. Having sex with another man while being the active partner "doesn’t make a man gay", it just means that he is engaging in homosexual activity. Passive partners will carry, if their role becomes known, a life-long stigma, akin to the way a women who has lost her virginity might be seen.
It's all about dominance and power -- like everything else about Islam.
There are, I guess, three different groups of people supporting such a braindead idea, the provocateurs, then those who know all that quite well and are taking this as a chance to expand their clientele, and the more dimwitted, politically correct faction who seriously think "gays" deserve a community center. Will they have a dark room and other swinish installations there? A glory hole maybe? (Yes, don't they all just want to marry a one and only beloved and raise a family?) There are already plenty of homosexual community centers. They are called "gay bars".
Muslims who come to America may indeed "come out" once they are free from the rigidly controlling cultural systems of their native countries. And when two shrill, demanding, arrogant, pushy pressure groups who are deeply convinced of their own supremacy join together, THEN you'll have a problem.

And who are we, anyway, with our past and present, capitalism, imperialism, White Supremacy, colonialism, not to speak of the Holocaust, to be arrogant enough to lecture them what is wrong or what is right.

Please help me understand
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.It doesn't say that a religious group can build their houses of worship anywhere they like. I fail to see how Muslims' freedom of religion is in any way compromised because they can not build a mosque next to Ground Zero. Nobody of any weight has ever as much as hinted that their status as a religious community ought to be taken away from them, although it comes across as quite a good idea, but nobody can build everything he wants everywhere. There are the rights of others to observe, aren't they? What about construction noise, disruption, water runoff, loss of light? A brothel next to a school? Are there no health codes, local ordinances, nuisance laws which may prohibit these conditions?
Any Americans out there to help me understand?

What One Needs to Know about Islam
Not quite. Cordoba stands for many other things as well. It was the name of the Islamic empire's center, from where Islam ruled most of the then known world. It's stands for one of the grandest mosques of that time which was, notabene, built on the ashes of a Christian Visigoth church. It stands, too for a massacre of the Jews of Cordoba in 1011 (yes, Al-Andalus wasn't quite what Muslims and their enablers would like us to believe) and for the rape of the city by the Almohades in 1148. Some websites claim that the year 1011 carries some symbolism as well, but while that is entirely possible, it is too far-fetched to make it a point here.
To understand the full implications one has to know two basically simple things:
First, Christians and Jews build their places of worship to, well, worship. Muslims build mosques to symbolize Islamic supremacy over others, to proselytize, to politicize, as an arsenal.
Second, Muslims act on symbols.
The Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem on top of the Jewish temple symbolizes Islamic supremacy over Judaism, the Ummayyad Mosque in Syria is built on top of St. John the Baptist, Hagia Sophia in Constantinople was converted into a mosque as a symbol of Islamic supremacy over Christianity. The Cordoba Initiative mosque will be built on the ashes of almost thousand Americans who couldn't be recovered after September 11, 2001. An innocent naive fallacy? Maybe, but I doubt it.
Here are some examples from Germany, my country, a country with, as of 2009, 4.3 million Muslims (5.4% of the population). Of these, 1.9 million are German citizens (2.4%). As of 2006, there were about 15,000 ethnic German converts. The large majority are of Turkish origin. Most Muslims live in Berlin and the big cities of former West Germany, mainly in the those of the industrial stronghold along the rivers Rhine and Ruhr.
The Yavuz-Sultan-Selim mosque in Mannheim is one of the biggest in Germany. Its patron, Selim I was the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire from 1512 to 1520. Selim carried the empire to the leadership of the Sunni branch of Islam by his conquest of the Middle East. On the eve of his death in 1520, the Ottoman empire spanned almost 1 billion acres.
More than 50 mosques in Germany are called Fatih. Fatih means conqueror and refers to Mehmet II who was Sultan of the Ottoman Empire for a short time from 1444 to September 1446, and later from February 1451 to 1481. At the age of 21, he conquered Constantinople in a bloodbath, bringing an end to the Byzantine Empire. Mehmet continued his conquests in Asia, with the "Anatolian reunification", and in Europe as far as Belgrade.
Other popular names for mosques in Germany are:
Aksa/Aqsa means "farthest", and in this context the "farthest [so far] from Mecca". The Muslim claim to Jerusalem and the Holy Land comes in here as well.
Ayasofya is emblematic for and purposefully reminiscent of Christian humiliation.
Hicret (arabic مسجد هجرة hidschra) refers to Mohammeds flight from Mekka to Medina in 622.
Imam Ali.
Al-Quds stands for Jerusalem. (It was an Al-Quds mosque in Hamburg from where Mohammed Atta set out to promote his very own brand of conquering.)
Selimiye refers to the megalomaniac Selimiye mosque in Edirne:
Then we have the Merkez mosque in Duisburg (Merkez means stronghold in Turkish), currently the biggest in Germany and probably in Europe as well. I discussed it previously for example here and here.
The controversial projected mosque in Cologne is called "Merkez" as well, which is (politically correct) translated not as "stronghold", but as "center". Ask for the name of the mosque next to you and do a quick Google search. The result might be interesting.
One more word about the Cordoba Initiative. Granted for argument's sake that the Ground Zero mosque, pardon me, the Cordoba outreach center to make better people of infidels, was planned and is being realized in good faith. Then we still have to deal with the sensitivity aspect, haven't we. Wasn't it abundantly clear in the first stages of the planning process already that only too many Americans wouldn't react kindly to a project like that? It seems that the sensitivity and respect Muslims are always so stridently demanding for themselves is utterly missing when they are addressing non-Muslims. Is it too far fetched to speculate how the idea of a German cultural center together with Protestant church, theater, swimming pool, the lot, as a gesture of reconciliation at the Westerplatte would be received by the Poles? Or why the Japanese did never propose a center for the promotion of their culture at Pearl Harbor?
I will never forget where I have been when 9/11 happened and how long it took for the reality of WHAT had happened to seep in -- and the horror when it finally had. Shortly after 9/11, an anonymous New Yorker released a Macromedia Flash presentation with a collage of news photos from the attacks and the victims. "Only Time" by Enya (which I hadn't heard before) was used as a soundtrack. The Flash presentation spread rapidly over the internet and it is still available. I don't know how many times I've watched it during the days and weeks following 9/11, bawling my eyes out. 30 times? 50 times? How can I ever forget the pictures of those who chose to fall to their death rather than to burn or to suffocate. Some choice. How the thought of the hundreds of firefighters who rushed to the scene to never come back? How the face of the gallant Father Mychal Judge who died, 68 years old, in a hail of steel and concrete as he administered the last rites to a firefighter and an office worker. And you, you who have been there, allow THEM to build one of their disgusting symbols of heathen supremacy over YOUR culture on the ashes of the victims.

Western Exculpation Strategies for Muslim Terror
The reprobate anglophone media are falling over themselves in their ardour to inform us that the murdered Westerners had not been Christian missionaries. "British doctor murdered by Taliban was 'true hero' and not a Christian missionary, say family", one headline says.Of course, had they been Christian missionaries, it would have made murdering them appear somewhat alright. I am reminded of the 2007 "Sudanese teddy bear blasphemy case" of the British schoolteacher Gillian Gibbons, where the Brits, instead of sending a gunboat (or whatever the equivalent is nowadays) ,sent a couple of Muslims, among them such a strong defender of Western values like Lord Ahmed, to explain that the teacher wasn't knowing what she did. Of course, had she named the teddy bear Muhammad with intent, she'd deserved to die.
In Germany, the eculpation efforts go different, and arguably worse, ways. Christian missions are virtually no topic here, but IDEALISM. Nobody who does something NOT for money (like, say, the Holocaust) can't be all bad. So they ignore the Taliban's own admission, ignore the fact that they spared the chauffeur who was able to quote from the Koran and go on pondering, earnestly, seriously and throughly, why it might have been still a hold-up robbery (Raubüberfall):

The Compatibility of Western "Progressivism" with Islam
And that is exactly what Islam wants as well. They are mutually compatible, and each faction think they can control the other and we are supposed to lean back and wait who wins.
I'd like to add that the mutual hatred of Jews fits perfectly well into all this. For to the rebels in the West against God and the Ten Commandments, the godless cult of Islam must appear as the perfect ally.

It's Islam, Stupid! -- Redux
On the same day as you published this (Sunday 25 July) I saw a long (half-hour) BBC interview with Eileen Gittins, the founder of the print-to-order company Blurb. (Print-to-order companies are internet-based businesses that allow anyone to publish a book and make as many or as few copies as they can sell or pay for. The best-known is Lulu.) The interviewer was Zeinab Bedawi, a Muslim of the same kind as Aygül Özkan, dressed in subdued chic, gracefully made up and coiffured, and with not the shadow of a veil in sight. From the beginning, Ms.Bedawi was visibly hostile, and her questioning was clearly aimed at showing, either that there was something unethical – as in the case of old-fashioned vanity publishers – about print-to-order, or that it would lower the level of communication. For the first ten minutes or so of the interview, I felt that this was the caste arrogance of the professional journo coming out – we cannot allow all that blogger rabble to pollute the sanctuary of mass communication with their muddy boots and vile manners. But then, at first from behind a tangle of words and claims, and then more and more clearly, another agenda showed itself. Suppose someone published something that was offensive. Well, answered Ms.Gittins, we have mechanisms in place – we don’t vet everything ourselves, but we encourage the public to make complaints. Ah, said Ms.Bedawi, but what about things offensive to particular groups? Like, say, the Danish cartoons? She started really hammering at this point, which is when I switched the TV off – though I must say that Ms.Gittins was being admirably stout and refusing to privilege a group’s claims over freedom of expression.Astute observations like that always spur my interest, so I did a quick Google search on Zeinab Bedawi (or Badawi). This made me think. It seems evident to me that what Ms.Bedawi instinctively opposed was the thought of thousands, maybe millions of people, each publishing freely - what is already happening with the internet, but in the more permanent and respected medium of paper. Where the surface of caste prejudice and the inner reality of religious threat meet, was in hating the idea of mass action - mob action - in the print media. Now Muslims, especially Sunni Muslims, certainly do not dislike mob action as such: it is their main way to be felt - yelling crowds of bearded youths pouring from mosques on hot Friday afternoons. On the other hand, the appeal clearly made by Bedawi to non-Muslims in general is clearly coded in a language of snobbery, intended to reach the elites and those who regard themselves as elite. It says: "Don't allow this banausic mob of Sunday scribblers to take control of the media from you - you who are educated, professional and enlightened. See what risks you run when you allow Uncle Tom Cobbley and all to say what they think about things they know nothing of - such as Islam?" In other words, there is an inherent attempt to co-opt the non-Muslim societal leaderships into the job of Muslim repression, by flattering their intellectual and social presumptions. You can hear it in the constant but never justified claim that anyone who criticizes or opposes Islam does so because he is ignorant: this is frequently repeated by establishment supporters of Islam - and you can see that the assumption involved helps them accept the claim, by flattering their own self-image. That is not necessary when you can just arouse their own contempt - laced by unspoken fear - for the mobs in their own world. Of course, fears remaining a useful unadmitted motivation, but there is no need to ever mention it: to the contrary, you may act for all the world like the most quivering of cowed dhimmis and still see in the mirror the face of a paragon, a hero of enlightened vision and principle.

Public positions
Badawi has been an adviser to the Foreign Policy Centre and a Council Member of the Overseas Development Institute. She is a trustee of the National Portrait Gallery (since 2004) and the British Council.

So here we have a woman, an immigrant to Britain, who owes everything she is to the culture in which she was raised. She was showered with honours and important positions where she had considerable influence on the opinion making process within the culture that raised and made her. And as I don't know the circumstances, I am not even saying that this remarkable career was, all or partly, a matter of affirmative action, white guilt, Western self-loathing or whatever. Let's assume she was, and is, truly deserving of all that. And yes, there is no veil in sight and let's, too, reflect for a precious moment what would have happened to her had she remained in Sudan.
And when all is said and done, where do her loyalties lie? It's Islam, stupid!

It's Islam, Stupid!
Not even three months ago we reported that Aygül Özkan (38), the designated Minister for Social Affairs in the German state of Lower Saxony, had caused some controversy when she called for a ban the crucifix in state schools before she was even sworn in. Özkan is now Germany's first Muslim minister on government level and has taken over the "integration" portfolio from the Ministry of the Interior, to which it used to belong.Lawyer-by-training and German by naturalisation Özkan also sees German courts as an "alien authority" and would like to see more Turks in that office.
Now Özkan is about to introduce a "Media Charter" for Lower Saxony. During a collective act on August 16 in Hannover, the invited media representatives are supposed to sign this so-called "Media Charter Integration". The written invitation says that the collective declaration of intent is supposed to generate a publicity effect and all undersigned will have to pledge themselves to "strongly support the integration process in Lower Saxony".
Özkan's ministry asks the media to declare in writing to increase reporting about circumstances and challenges connected to integration, to use "culturally sensitive" language doing so, to further "intercultural openness (which is, of course, humbug, because the term "intercultural" does not imply a one-way-street and don't we all know the "intercultural openness" of Muslims towards the West), to improve their "intercultural competence" (ditto), to initiate relevant projects and to cover them as journalists.

But while Özkan had gotten a lot of backslapping by the media for her attempt at removing the crucifix from the public eye (who wants religion anyway, at least as long as it's Christian), by getting at the media itself, she went too far and didn't come by the usual fawning reception to which she must be used by now.
Here we have a woman, young, "modern", seemingly perfectly assimilated, educated to university level, the lot, yet the first thing she sets her mind on in her high office, even before she is sworn in, is the banning of the Christian symbol from schools and, not even three months later, the abolition of the freedom of the press in favour of her fellow Muslims. Because in spite of all the "integration" and "people with a migration background" hogwash it's just about one thing: Islam. Just as for this woman, young, "modern", seemingly perfectly assimilated, educated to university level, everything is about that. Always. Islam is like that.

Epitaph for Aminat (14)
A Calgary mother won’t spend a day in jail for killing her teenage daughter with a head scarf — a decision that has prompted outrage.And nobody even remembered that all this was supposed to be, too, about speaking for the victim and denunciation.
A national victims’ group, based in Toronto, is stunned by the suspended sentence given to Aset Magomadova by Court of Queen’s Bench Justice Sal LoVecchio on Thursday.
“I really strongly disagree. It sends a massively huge message to the rest of the country and the world that her daughter’s life was valueless,” said Joe Wamback, co-founder and chairman of the Canadian Crime Victims Foundation. Dear Mr. Wamback, no doubt you are meaning well, but you are talking about a Muslim family. To her, her daughter's life WAS valueless. You have ... HOW many Muslims in Canada? (It doesn't really matter how many exactly. If something like that happens, there are too many already.) Get an education!
“Even though this girl may have been a handful and trouble, that’s not the issue. Good to know! We are relieved, otherwise we'd thought that killing her is just the appropriate measure to discipline an unruly teenager. The issue is human life. Oh yes? Sentencing is not just about the criminal, but has to speak for the victim and to denunciation.” Gosh, how frightfully non-politically correct. No wonder nobody gave a damn.
In October, LoVecchio acquitted Magomadova, 40, of second-degree murder and found her guilty of manslaughter in the death of Aminat, 14. He placed her on probation for three years with several conditions, including taking counselling for grief, depression and anger management. And a trip to the Caribbean and an unlimited supply of McDonalds coupons for life.
The judge rejected an argument by Crown prosecutors Mac Vomberg and Sarah Bhola for a 12-year prison term, instead accepting the position of defence lawyer Alain Hepner, saying a suspended sentence can still meet the demands of sharia justice.
“At first blush (a suspended sentence) may sound like a get-out-of-jail-free card. It is not,” said LoVecchio. What else is it then?
“The court has said the act in question does not merit a period of incarceration. What the court has done is reserved or, to use the word of the statute, suspended judgment on that point for a period of time on conditions. If the conditions are satisfied, then the individual will not be sentenced. If they are breached, the individual will be brought back to the court to be dealt with further.” This is so debauched, so debased and rotten to the core, that it can only come from a judge in a liberal Western country.
Magomadova was charged after the deadly incident at their home the morning of Feb. 26, 2007, after Aminat refused to go to court to be sentenced for assaulting a female teacher at her school.
The devout Muslim mother claimed Aminat came at her with a knife in her sewing room, where she prayed several times a day. She said she reacted by wrapping the scarf around her daughter’s neck and twice told the girl to put the knife down before the teen lost consciousness.
A knife was found in the room, but the daughter’s fingerprints were not on it. But Muslims don't lie. Didn't you know that their faith forbids lying? It's peace, too. Oh yes, and mercy!
LoVecchio, who rejected a defence of self-defence, deemed the woman did not intend to kill the teen, even though medical examiner Dr. Sam Andrews testified that death as a result of such an act would have taken at least 2 1/2 minutes.
Jennifer Koshan, an associate professor at the University of Calgary’s faculty of law who researches family violence, said the vast majority of fatal family violence cases involve husbands killing their wives. I guess this totally useless and a-topical information is supposed let the murder of the girl somehow appear less gruesome. At least it wasn't a man who choked her.
“It’s relatively unusual to see a mother killing a child, especially an older child,” [sic!] said Koshan. “So it’s rare for the court to be faced with this situation. Maybe that influenced the judge in his decision.” Right! So the court said: "We have never dealt with a mother strangling her teenage daughter cruelly to death over a time of 2 1/2 minutes, so let's not deal with it at all!" What a magically wise solution.
Marilyn Millions, one of Magomadova’s sponsors with St. James Anglican Church, said outside court she was relieved “at the compassion and mercy that has been shown” by the court. Sorry, I'm not commenting on that. Words fail me.
“There were lots of tears and emotion,” she said. “If you’ve lived through it and you’ve gotten to know these people, it’s all in the context. It’s a lot different than reading a little bit about it. It’s a very different situation.” WHAT is a very different situation? Having to deal with a murderous Muslim walrus?
Millions also said it was the wish of the family that “people would know mental-health services for young people and help for their families will be improved, and changes made to the system, so that others who have to go through similar situations do not fall through the cracks.” So that woman killed her daughter because she fell though some "cracks"? It wasn't really her fault?
Hepner said his client was crying after she learned she’d be free to go home and agreed it was an appropriate sentence. You bet!
“The judge considered all the factors and it was a very lengthy decision,” said Hepner, who had sought either a conditional jail sentence to be served in the community or the suspended sentence. “He considered the background, psychological and psychiatric background. What else can a judge do in arriving at a proper decision?” Maybe use some common sense and simple human decency?
LoVecchio said he wrestled with the dynamics of the family in reaching his conclusions. The "dynamics" of that family are that of a Muslim family in the West.
He noted that the woman came to Canada for a better life for herself and her children from Chechnya, where her husband had been killed by Russian invaders and she had part of her foot blown off. And that excuses killing her child, no doubt. I don't want to appear unkind, but I'm afraid the Russians blew the wrong body part off.
“This was a family in crisis with events spiralling out of control,” he said, alluding to the friction between Aset and Aminat leading up to the deadly confrontation that morning. Well, whatever.
“It cannot be reduced to simply a case of mom choosing to kill her daughter as a form of discipline because she misbehaved. Quite simply, the events of that morning cannot be seen as a single isolated event.” Blah blah blah yabber yabber yack yack ...
And, you know, that is not really about Islam, that's how Islam is EXPLOITED by people like that infanticidal hippopotamus.

She made the pledge while visiting the Oskar Shchindler [sic!] enamel factory where the German protected Jews from the Holocaust.
“Today I am proud to announce the intention of the Obama Administration to work with Congress to secure $15 million in funding for the Auschwitz-Birkenau Foundation,” she said.
“We encourage other nations to join us in contributing to this fund. In just one year, 2009 alone, more than 1.3 million people from around the world visited the museum and memorial of Auschwitz,” Clinton added during a sombre speech.
“Our contribution will help preserve the camp so that future generations can see for themselves why the world must never again allow a place of such hatred to scar the soul of humankind,” she said.

“We see here the two realities of the Holocaust. In this context it ought to be mentioned, that the Facebook accounts of Dr. Christine Dietrich and Stefan Herre, two of the people behind Politically Incorrect, have been terminated without explanation or notice.On Facebook an apparently deeply piled up hate of Jews is now being unloaded. Nora, I can't help you understand because I don';t understand. The St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, destroyed on 9/11 by one of the falling towers is still struggling to rebuild. The Greek Archdioceses has accused New York officials of turning their back on them while giving the Muslim Mosque the green light to go ahead. Talks with the New York Port Authority have stalled and authority officials say they will not be revived. The same government officials who are facilitating the mosque, regularly put zoning roadblocks in the way of Christian and Jewish congregations to build or expand their facilities. As far as the claim that we are somehow denying Muslims their rights, they have hundreds of mosques and prayer rooms in New York. The argument is a red herring. This is about sensitivity to victims.
Americans agree that building the mosque may be legal but this is a sensitive spot. We are constantly told by our officials to be sensitive to Muslims beliefs. Well, what about them being sensitive to our values? I just watched some talking head idiot on TV say that opponents to the mosque were just being "too emotional" Well, 2,900 people were incinerated and America was thrown in a tumult because 12 adherents of the "religion of peace" hijacked four airliners. I think we have a right to be emotional. Our government officials are either cowards and think appeasement will make Muslims like us or they just are so PC brainwashed they are absolute morons. Either way, they are trying to cuddle and coddle a cobra. When it finally rears up and bites them, they are going to be surprised as hell.

The Constitution and Amendments are brief and don't spell out what they mean. So everyone has an opinion, and often it falls to the Supreme Court to decide. Then people talk about court precedent, usually in slogan form, such as creationism can't be taught in school due to "separation of church and state." Court precedent on zoning laws and houses of worship are not well known, so people are just shooting from the hip when they spout off First Amendment.

Yes Editrix you are right that the First Amendment has nothing to do with where a place of religious worship can be built. First Amendment when it comes to religion is about separation of church and state and the right to practice a religion.
The issue comes in the Fourteenth Amendment in the second sentence (which I underline):
"All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."
See to say American-Muslims who bought a building that they cannot make it a mosque because it’s Islamic technically violates the 14th Amendment. Because there would be no issue if Christians bought the building and turned it into a church or if an American-Muslim wanted to open a grocery store there would be no issues. But to take it away without legal reasons and due process because it’s a particular religion of a citizen or citizens would violate the 14th Amendment and possible the 1st Amendment by default because it religious discrimination. A group trying to stop the mosque there did try to get the building deemed historical but it failed because it didn't meet the requirements.
Now there are eminent domain laws. Fifth Amendment allows the Federal government to take property for “public use” but they must compensate the owners. States also have eminent domain laws which can take land for public use or the public good. But depending on the circumstances Federal and States can be overruled by the 14th Amendment.
This really comes down to the property owner, he can have a mosque or he can be sensitive to the matter and not have a mosque. From what I understand Muslims have been worshiping there since 2009.
As Gator pointed out the sad thing is that this mosque is two blocks away but yet a church at Ground Zero is being given the run around. A Greek Orthodox Church accused New York officials of turning their backs on the only church destroyed in the Sept. 11 attacks,
Problem in America is our hyper PC sensitivity when it comes to Islam. People have no problem challenging or criticizing Christianity or Judaism but when it comes to Islam everybody become mute, of course this wouldn’t have anything to do with acts of violence and threats of violence that are committed by Muslims when they are offended. If there are truly moderate Muslims they need to speak up and challenge the fundamentalist. Moderate Muslims only seem to pop up after a fundamentalist commits an act of violence and tells us non-Muslims that this is not Islam. Hey don’t tell me, tell the Islamic fundamentalist.
